Diabetes Symptoms
Diabetes may be a very common modern disease, with quite a few symptoms, yet many people are not aware of those symptoms at all. Without knowledge of the symptoms, you are less likely to be aware that you may have diabetes.
Not all symptoms may be present in a person with diabetes, but here is a list of possible diabetes symptoms to watch out for, remembering of course that you must consult a doctor if you have any of these:
Type 1 Diabetes Symptoms
Frequent urination is often a symptom of diabetes.
Being very thirsty much of the time can go with the urination problem, because of the need to replace the lost liquid. A dry throat and mouth all the time may, but only may, indicate diabetes.
Eye problems, involving blurred vision.
Losing weight, despite feeling hungry and eating well
A general feeling of weakness and tiredness can be another diabetes symptom.
Type 2 Diabetes
Frequent urination can again be an indicator, of type 2 diabetes.
The dried mouth problem can also be present, coupled with the thirstiness.
Leg pain may be present.
The patient may suffer from itchiness and allergic reactions to yeast.
Patients with Type 2 diabetes may have no symptoms at all, or hardly be aware of them. An appropriate blood sugar test will reveal if someone has diabetes or pre-diabetes, so it is imperative to consult your doctor if you think it is possible you have diabetes in either of its stages.
